Courtesy Post: Meet Scout! When we found him he had a hard time walking which we later found out was from raw spots on his pads. His toenails are pretty worn down as well as in he has nubs left so he was definitely wondering for quite some time. As far as his health you know that he is all good there. His hair looks a hundred times better and appears thicker in those hind areas. His temperament is a mixture of things. He does not appear to be aggressive at all as I have yet to see him bare his teeth or posture in an aggressive way. With that said he is still hesitant around humans and he has growled and barked at a couple of my neighbors when they came up to greet him when we were walking. He plays great with other dogs as we had an accidental meet with Lola and they had a blast. He seems to be somewhat house trained as he has yet to try marking anywhere in the house when I let him out of the crate to roam. He does suffer separation anxiety which we are working on, he will yelp when we leave the apartment. He also has no formal training, he walks pretty good on a leash as he doesn’t really pull unless he sees a cat or smells something. We are working on simple obedience commands like sit and stay as we are leaving the house. As soon as I open the door he bolts out, this has been the hardest thing to try and correct so far. He is so adamant about getting outside. He also loves to put his paws on your shoulder and hug you when he is excited which we are correcting with squirts of water. He really is a loving, sweet dog he just needs a compassionate home that will love him and be patient with him as they train and work with him on becoming a great obedient dog who trusts humans. Starlin came in today as an owner surrender along with one other dog, that she has lived with for years, and two cats all from the same family. As an owner surrender she has NO hold time and can be pts at ANY time as AC fills up. She is an American Bull dog estimated at 1-2 years of age. She is very sweet and friendly, however, she DOES NOT like being on a leash at all. So she will definitely need some leash training. As per her owners, she needs to be an only dog. Starlin is located in Pen 5 and her adoption fee is $25. If you’re interested in making her a part of your family, giving her the FOREVER home that she deserves please contact Long County Animal Control in Ludowici, Ga. 912-545-CATS
